Still settling in

Hello all,

I am still settling in to my new apartment and job.  CatVis seems to be in high demand and have had some bug fix request as well as feature suggestions. I hope to work on those soon thanks for the feedback.

Officially an Erie-ite

I am now officially an Erie-ite. Once I get settled in a week or so I will update to 2.6 and begin updating Category-Visibility. Goal is to have a new version out mid to late August.  Have already been playing with 2.6 on a few other sites and like what I have seen. Also, keep an eye out for Eriedia.com soon to explode on the Erie scene….

Thoughts…

One of my cohorts at work is one of those very inspiring people that tends to motivate anyone that he comes in contact with. And lately he has come up with this quote that is very true for me right now.

Vision with Action is a Dream come true; Vision without Action is a Nightmare

And everyday I think up a new thing that Erie needs, a new goal I want to accomplish, a new business plan that is sure to succeed, or a piece I like to create. By the end of each day I am right were I started and nothing has been accomplished.  I am so busy with my visions that they are becoming my nightmares.  At the bloggers meeting, someone asked want kind of blog is missing basically want does Erie need.  As usual I started spouting off all my ideas and he stop me to say than do it.  Of course, I came back with the lame excuse of not enough time. The more I thought about it though I have found that the time is there I just have to apply some action to one or two of my visions and not let the whole of them become my nightmare.

BTW… The Blogger’s meetup was at Pio’s Italian Resturaunt on the East side; very good food.

Sums it up

I have been going through a period of time now struggling with motivation, what I want to do with myself, and what I am pretty sure now is adult ADD. And while listening to this weeks episode of This American Life – “#073 Blame it on Art” they had a quote that pretty well sums things up.

“Most of us are toiling away at daily work that doesn’t seem as important to us as the ambitious dreams we have for ourselves. We are convinced we are not living up to our potential. That there is a better part of ourselves that just hasn’t expressed itself yet. Until the day our lives are over and what’s left is that daily work whatever it is and what ever we gave it.”

Basically it is not what you do but how you do it. But it puts it in a light that makes the dreams even though possibly unachievable still worth the effort.
